Episode 51 - The First Battle of Manassas (Bull Run): The Civil War's First Major Battle

After the attack on Fort Sumter, President Lincoln calls for 75,000 military volunteers. Two days later, Virginia secedes from the Union. By July, the two sides stand poised, ready to engage in the Civil War’s first major battle. Called Bull Run by the North, and Manassas by the South, the engagement marks a handy victory for the Confederacy. Alas, this war will last.
