For one hundred years after the abolishment of slavery, black Americans face the crucibles of segregation and discrimination. In August of 1963, 250,000 protesters gather on the National Mall to call for racial equality. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivers the defining speech of the day. In his televised address, King draws upon the words of Abraham Lincoln, as well as those of the American Founding.
