Episode 38 - The Trail of Tears

In 1830, President Andrew Jackson signed into law the Indian Removal Act. The law was resisted by the likes of Tennessee Rep. Davy Crockett Cherokee Chief John Ross, and Christian missionaries Samuel Worcester and Elizur Butler. Jackson’s successor, President Martin van Buren, carried out the forced migration, known as the Trail of Tears.
