Episode 34 - The Second War of Independence

Due to a variety of factors, including the British impressment of American sailors, America declared war on Great Britain in 1812. The United States invaded parts of British-ruled Canada. America suffered an 1814 invasion of her capital city, Washington D.C. The British burned the capitol building and the White House. In the end, the Americans won the war. The conflict’s greatest battle, though, came after the peace treaty had been signed.
